The Moon Houses, or Dome Houses some call them, are truly my favorite thing to photograph. These awesome concrete houses were about a quarter mile inland when I first started visiting them. I remember being young and climbing on them! Now with all the storms and years of beach front being swept away they are creeping more and more into the Gulf Of Mexico just south of Marco Island Florida. This photograph was taken less than a month after hurricane Irma's eye went overtop of the moon houses. The moon houses will not be there for much longer as there were six, and only 4 remain after the hurricane. Many are trying to take them apart instead of letting them organically become their own habitable reef. Although they may be discarded and abandoned, they are beautiful and a sight to be seen!
