This 20-year-old nomad subsists under a threadbare woolen tarp with her parents-in-law, husband, and her 3-year-old son in the Sahara Desert of southeastern Morocco near the village of Merzouga. She has no education, no job, and no prospect for a rewarding future. Her timorous eyes seem to reflect her present and future condition. The image was processed with Silver Efex Pro 2.
