Taken in the woods surrounding the Grand Canyon. These shots for me were very difficult. First of all the truth be told, I don't know what Im doing as of yet. and second, it was the first time actually seeing these animals in their natural habitat. No other folks were around just the two of us stumbling around trying not to spook them. The trees and the bushes were major problems: they were very hard to see because natures camouflage is excellent they blend in very well with the background. Furthermore, I was worried that they were going to run off so I did't try to set up properly just started snapping. Every time I got set and into position the wind would blow, a branch would move, I'd stumble over a twig or I'd get distract by movement and decide that that was a much better shot. The deer seemed at ease, I heard one of them say" if the big cat comes around we just have to out run them... I have a lot to learn and a long way to go as far as photography is concerned. It was fun and a challenge. Tech Data. Nikon D60 f/5.6 1/250 ISO 200 28-300 mm no flash 420 mm. Adobe Photoshop CS6.
