Long before birds became a favorite subject for photographers, many craftsmen and artists incorporated bird images into their works -- as in this 3rd century Roman mosaic that seems to proclaim “Keep your birds away from my fruit trees or my owl will get them.” (That’s my interpretation -- Latin scholars will have a different translation.) The photo was taken in the Bardo Museum in Tunis, Tunisia, with a Nikon D70 and a Nikkor 18-70 mm lens at 34 mm. The exposure was f/5.6 and 1/20 sec.
