Calf Roping - Salinas Rodeo

A long zoom lens was required at this rodeo because the it has a large arena. We had fairly good seats to be able get good angles for many of the rodeo events. In this case the horse is putting the brakes on causing the rope to go taught which immediately stopped the calf. The force was so violent that threw the calf into the air as the cowboy came out of the saddle. For the calf, it was a decisive moment.
