I have always been fascinated by history, especially around my region. It's amazing how far we have came in less than 100 years. Anytime I find a historical place I try to visit, study and document it.
This is the Hiram Caldwell place in the Cataloochee section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I took this image from the inside of the barn across from the home. Hiram Caldwell started building this home in 1903 and finished in 1906 and began raising sheep to trade their wool.
