Every time we visit Venice I take photos of buildings reflected in the canals. To avoid having the image
washed out, the sun needs to illuminate the building, but not the water. I then take then reflected image
and flip it vertically, to yield a distorted view of the scene that still maintains a "right side up" perspctive.
The extent of the distortion varies, depending primarily on how recently a boat (or gondola) has passed.
This shot is of a cafe on the island of Burano, in the Venetian lagoon. I was taken by the bright yellow umbrellas
