I took this picture on a cool September morning in Yellowstone National Park. I was there on a 5 day Nikon seminar. This picture won first place among approximately 80 photographers attending the seminar. I was shooting pictures of a small herd of bison as they were crossing the road. I then turned my vehicle around to leave, when I saw this bison silhouetted by the rising sun. I took two quick pictures. In this picture you can see the bison's breath.
