This baby bison was born about one hour before this picture was taken at dusk in Yellowstone National Park along the Madison River. I got there about twenty minutes after the birth according to other observers. The umbilical cord was still attached to the mother. The baby took a considerable amount of time and circled the mother nuzzling all parts before she finally found where to get the milk. This photo shows the touching relationship between mother and child and love in their eyes.
