This is a famous landmark in Rhode Island, Beavertail lighthouse. It was taken before sunset with the new Canon 11-24mm lens and a Canon 5D Mark III camera. I tried to get low and use the rock surfaces as leading lines, also the clouds seemed to point to the lighthouse, which was good. The ultra wide angle lens was used at 12mm, not an easy lens to use because it takes in so much detail. There was a 3 stop graduated ND on the lens, plus a polarizer since the sun was 90 degrees to the right. Shot at f22, ISO 100 for 1/13 sec.
