On my first return trip to the Sacramento, CA, zoo since the late '50's, this gorgeous tiger named Baha, was cooperating nicely for the visitor's viewing pleasure. Sadly, months later, she was killed by a new male tiger on the day the two were placed in the same exhibit. It was hoped that the two would breed and have cubs. For this shot, I had to crouch very low and shoot through a wire fence, a glass panel, and a thick stand of bamboo shoots. But no one else was at this viewing position a short distance from the main viewing location.
