There's a wonderful riparian reserve a half hour from my home, which in winter hosts large numbers of migrating waterfowl. I was struck by the simplicity of this solitary American avocet in flight, and how its orange coloring was complemented by a pole reflected in the water. Shot with a Canon 7D at f/7.1. 1/1600 sec. at ISO 250
