Winter came early in the Smoky's this year, it actually came while autumn color was at its peak. You couldn't ask for anything more scenic than this. I have lived near the park my entire life and can't recall a time that was more beautiful than this, it will will be something I cherish forever.
As the snow fell I decided to capture the layers of the forest while highlighting the autumn color. I looked for a single tree that would stand out with the snow working in the background. Eventually I found this scene. I loved the lines the trees created and how the yellow really stood out. This was exactly what I was looking for.
