"Aspirations" was made by Gary Larsen in Scripps Park in La Jolla, CA in 2014. The camera was a Nikon D300 converted to infrared using a Nikon 18-70 mm lens set at 24 mm. The exposure was at ISO 200 with an aperture of f/16 and a shutter speed of 1/250 of a second. The sequence of palms against the solid blue sky created a particularly dramatic vertical composition that I knew would be very compelling in B&W in the IR format. Final processing was with Photoshop CS5 using the Curves tool followed by some sharpening.
