This was taken at Palo Alto Baylands Nature Reserve, CA. The hatchling was only a day old and hasn't opened its eyes. I travelled to this site almost every other day to record the growth of the baby from incubation to fledging. Canon EOS 40D, Canon EF75-300mm lens at 300mm, f/9.5, 1/180sec. ISO 800.
