Transcend
Information, Inc. has released the lightest JetFlash T2K USB 2.0 Flash Drive
with memory capacity up to 4GB. Transcend's JetFlash T2K is a tiny and slim
flash drive; it measures a mere 42.6mm x 16mm x 3.1mm and is almost weightless
(2g). The JetFlash T2K uses advanced sealing technique to assemble memory chip
and casing into a perfect whole. Its design includes a hook to use with a neck
strap for convenience and to prevent loss.

Following the success of its inaugural event in 2006, SILVER, the high-profile
conference and photographic competition sponsored by Ilford Photo and Calumet,
moves forward with plans for SILVER 2007.



Taking place March 30 - April 1 at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
CA, SILVER will bring together a wealth of talent, experience and knowledge via
an impressive line-up of speakers and forum panelists. Photographers of all levels
will benefit from lectures, workshops, one-on-one discussions, forums and opportunities
for networking with fellow enthusiasts.



There will also be informal print reviews, open portfolio critiques and a print
competition for cash prizes with the winners announced at the conclusion of the
conference.



The major featured speakers sharing their particular viewpoints on different aspects
of black-and-white photography will be John Sexton, Keith Carter, Ken Rosenthal,
Mary Virginia Swanson and Sally Gall, while British photographer and darkroom
expert Tim Rudman will be running a darkroom workshop on lith printing, toning,
etc.



Panelists answering participants' questions and concerns in forum sessions will
represent a wide panorama of black-and-white photography, from photographers,
writers, gallery owners and managers to representatives of the event's sponsors.
These include Frish Brandt of the Fraenkel Gallery, Michelle Dunn Marsh of Aperture
Magazine, Craig Krull of the Craig Krull Gallery, David Fahey of the Fahey/Klein

Canon celebrates the 20th anniversary of its top-selling EOS single lens reflex
camera system by announcing the EOS-1D Mark III Digital SLR, the world's

Samsung Camera has unveiled the newest addition to its NV series of advanced
point & shoot digital cameras -- the NV11. The NV11 features a premium
Schneider lens, as well as Samsung's intuitive Smart Touch user interface

by simply sliding a finger across its control buttons positioned around the

Lexar has introduced Professional UDMA (Ultra Direct Memory Access) memory
cards, the latest addition to the company's Professional line of high-performance
cards. When paired with a UDMA-enabled device, such as Lexar's new Professional

digital imaging experience by reducing the time needed to download captured

Hasselblad has launched the Hasselblad H3D-31, the 31 megapixel version of the
H3D-39, the world's first 48mm full-frame DSLR camera system. Featuring
near full-frame capture, the H3D-31 uses a 44×33mm sensor enhanced with
micro-lenses to boost ISO rating one stop to a new maximum of ISO 800. The system's
new high-speed capture architecture, which is common to all H3D models, gives
the H3D-31 a capture rate of 1.2 seconds per image in either mobile or tethered
mode. These features give the H3D-31 the highest burst rate of the H3D family
and make it the camera of choice for the professional mobile photographer.

Freestyle Photographic Supplies announced that it has finalized an agreement with
the Slavich Manufacturing Company, of Pereslavl-Zalessky, Russia, officially naming
Freestyle the exclusive United States distributor of Slavich brand photographic
papers.



Slavich is a Russian film and paper company that has been in existence since 1931.
For many years, Slavich was not only the principal supplier to the Soviet Army
and Navy of black and white photographic products, but also the first manufacturer
of motion picture film in the U.S.S.R. In fact, many of the masterpieces of Russian
cinema were shot and edited on Slavich product. Through Freestyle's efforts,
Slavich's black and white fiber-based graded paper, called Unibrom, is now
available in the United States for the first time in both double-weight and single-weight.
