Shutterbug Photo of the Day: “Aurora Over Jokulsarlon” by Marion Faria

Our Shutterbug Photo of the Day is a splendiferous shot of the Aurora Borealis by Marion Faria. Faria shot the image in Iceland with a Canon 5D Mark II and 15mm fisheye lens.

“This image was taken in August, when there is almost no chance of seeing the aurora borealis in Iceland,” she writes about the shot. “However, because of intense solar activity, the aurora appeared over the ice lagoon for one night around midnight. It was spectacular.”
