New Kodak PIXPRO SP360 Action Cam Lets You Capture 360-Degree HD Video & Panoramic Photos

JK Imaging, Ltd., which is now the worldwide licensee for the Kodak brand,  PIXPRO Digital Cameras and Devices, has announced the new Kodak Pixpro SP360 Action Cam. This small and portable device is designed to capture 360-degree HD videos and fully immersive images all in one shot, without the need for multiple cameras or other devices.

The Kodak SP360 Action Cam is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and features a dome-shaped fixed lens that captures 360-degree HD videos (at 30fps) that can be shot and viewed from multiple vantage points including: 360-degree Panorama, Front (212 degrees), Split with 180 degrees front and rear views simultaneously, Dome (214 degrees) and Ring/Sphere (360 degrees) modes.

In the past, 360-degree panoramic photography required you to use advanced techniques, specialized equipment, editing software (to stitch the images together) and multiple cameras but now the SP360 is designed to make the process simple. It also offers a free, de-warping app (for Mac or PC) that lets users edit their content post capture. Download the HD video from the SP360 to your computer, then pan and select a variety of viewing angles (including: top, left and right) and save them as new video files. Users can also select individual frames from different viewing perspectives in the HD video and save them as hi-resolution still images.

The SP360 is equipped with a motion sensor setting to automatically trigger recording when it detects movement. The SP360 Action Cam is Wi-Fi enabled and can be connected to a smartphone, a tablet or a personal computer (iOS 6, Android 4.0, Mac OS X10.9, or Windows 8/7 systems or higher) to act as an additional method of remote control or for viewing the content the user is shooting from up to 65 feet away. The free PIXPRO SP360 (iOS or Android) app is currently available at Apple's iTunes and Google Play stores.

The Kodak Pixpro SP360 Action Cam is water, freeze (-10 degrees c), shock (2m) and dustproof and is compatible with a micro SDHC memory card (Class 6 or higher and up to 32GB capacity). The SP360 Action Cam comes with a rechargeable Li-ion battery, a battery charger, an AC adapter, a Micro USB cable, a clear plastic lens cover, a protective lens cover, a carrying case and a cleaning cloth.

It weighs just 3.63 ounces and is sold with 3 accessory bundles so users can take the action cam on the go depending upon their activity. The Explorer bundle is for entry-level users ($349), the Aqua bundle for watersports ($349) and the Extreme Accessories bundle ($399) includes a bar mount for multiple mounting options (such as handle-bars), a flat adhesive mount for skate or paddle board, a curved adhesive mount head strap, helmet mounts, a surfboard adhesive mount, a suction cup mount, extended arms, a quick clip, tethers, a clear standard mount housing and a clear waterproof housing.
