Canon just announced that it is developing the much-rumored EOS R5 mirrorless camera. The subject of intense speculation over the past month, the Canon EOS R5 is the follow-up to the Canon R and Canon RP, which were the company's first full frame mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras.

Canon just introduced the compact and portable Canon EOS Rebel T8i, which is the "highest-performing" Rebel camera in Canon's line of entry-level DSLRs. Or, in other words, the Canon Rebel T8i is at the top of the low-end Rebel line-up and is aimed at photographers moving up from their smartphones to multi-featured interchangeable lens cameras.

Nikon has shared more details about its forthcoming new Nikon D6 pro DSLR. The Nikon D6, which will go on sale in April 2020 for $6,499.95 (body) only, will use a FX-format (aka full frame) CMSO sensor with the same 20.8MP resolution as the previous model, the Nikon D5 from four years ago.

Using manual mode on your camera can be intimidating to beginners. But it doesn't have to be. Even more importantly, you can easily use manual (i.e. M mode) on your camera to capture perfect exposed photos every time.

Not all photographers can afford fancy "hair and makeup" people to make sure their models are free of blemishes for the next photo shoot. And, even if you have the best makeup person on the planet, sometimes blemishes shine through in portraits. (It's amazing what high-resolution digital cameras can capture in an image these days; sometimes a lot of unwanted stuff, when it comes to portraits.)

Canon USA announced this morning that it has expanded its respected Explorers of Light professional photography education program to include five new members. Those members include the following pro photographers: landscape photographer Erin Babnik, car photographer Larry Chen, wedding and portrait photographer Sal Cincotta, wedding and portrait photographer Vanessa Joy, and outdoor photographer Zak Noyle.
