We’ve covered how photographers and videographers are using flying drones to capture amazing aerial footage but we’ve never seen anything quite like this.

Olympus introduced an unusual new durable compact camera this morning: the Stylus Tough TG-Tracker. Olympus is billing the Stylus Tough TG-Tracker as the company’s “first rugged experiential camera,” which combines a 204-degree ultra-wide-angle f/2.0 lens with Ultra HD 4K 30p video capture and an “advanced Field Sensor System” to shoot action video while recording related activity data.

The 20.8-megapixel D5 is Nikon’s latest flagship full-frame DSLR and with its robust, almost muscular build and speedy overall performance, this professional camera is designed for action and sports photographers and photojournalists. One of the Nikon D5’s most eye-popping features though is that it can shoot at up to ISO 3,280,000 (no, not a typo!) to capture images in extreme low-light conditions, which could open this camera up to a whole new group of photographers. (Surveillance imaging, anyone?)

More complaints are rolling in about the Nikon D750. Several owners of Nikon’s beleaguered, semi-pro full frame DLSR have been posting videos on YouTube showing their cameras experiencing error (ERR) messages when shooting at fast shutter speeds.

Instagram is, unquestionably, the hottest social network right now for sharing photos. While the service is simple to use, getting your work noticed is not easy considering you’re competing with over 400 million other Instagram users. So what’s the “trick,” if any? We interviewed three photographers who have found success on Instagram to learn more about this social media phenomenon. Along with checking out (and liking) their Instagram pages, don’t forget to visit (and like) Shutterbug’s own page (@shutterbugpix), where we’re sharing our favorite work from readers.

Hasselblad showed off its new H6D medium format camera at an exclusive media event in New York City today and Shutterbug was on hand to test out this hotly anticipated system. The H6D camera, which was officially announced last week, comes in two versions: the H6D-100c with a 100-megapixel CMOS sensor, and the H6D-50c with a 50MP CMOS sensor.

It’s been called “the longest running SLR in history” and that’s no exaggeration. Everyone who discovered photography at the same time I did – the early 1980s – either owned a Pentax K1000 or knew someone who owned a Pentax K1000.

Hasselblad just launched a brand new medium format camera body, the H6D, which the Swedish company has been “completely rebuilt” from the previous model.

We took the new 20.8MP Nikon D5 full frame DSLR for a spin in New York City last week, putting it to the test as we captured nude and semi-nude dancers in Times Square and other locales. Our mission was to test three main features of the Nikon D5: its ability to track dancers at high speed while firing off 12 frames per second bursts; it’s ability to capture subjects in low light at extremely high ISOs; and its ability to lock in focus in near total darkness.
