Nikon just launched the D780, a 24.5MP full frame (aka FX-format) DSLR that's the follow-up to the now ancient, by camera industry standards, D750 from 2014. The Nikon D780 is equipped with a 24.5-megapixel backside-illuminated full-frame CMOS sensor that has just slightly more resolution than its six-year-old predecessor, which used a 24.3MP sensor.

Like many photographers these days, I often carry a compact mirrorless camera while traveling, intent on lightening my load. Nikon just unveiled the new Nikon D6 professional DSLR camera and the AF-S NIKKOR 120-300mm f/2.8E FL ED SR VR telephoto zoom lens. But hold your horses. This is just a "development" announcement for the D6 and Nikkor 120-300mm lens from Nikon, so details about this new flagship DSLR and telephoto zoom are scant.
