Holga 135 BC Plastic Lens 35mm Film Camera: The BC stands for Black Corners effect and it creates prominent vignettes in your 35mm photos. The Holga uses all 35mmm formats films and it can operate without any batteries. There is a hot shoe on 135 BC, that allows you to use a flash when taking pictures at dark environments ( the flash is available separately). The Holga 135 BC is a fixed focus camera that offers four choices of object distances and two choice of aperture (f/11 and f/8). The Multiple Exposure effect can be easily achieve by not advancing the film after a frame has been exposed. There is a Lens/Filter for different effects available as an optional accessory.

Shutterbug reader Yvonne Baur captured this colorful image near “The Subway,” a uniquely shaped slot canyon in Zion National Park in Utah. “This spot is right before you enter the actual Subway section of the hike and the only water you see is through this tiny crack in the sandstone,” Baur says.

Capturing good street photography images can be a lot tougher than it seems. First, you have to be bold enough to shoot candid images of people on the street, most times without their permission. Secondly, in this assignment we were looking for powerful street photography images that captured an emotion or told a story; not just random shots of people walking down the street. Or, to paraphrase the great Henri Cartier-Bresson, we were seeking images that captured “the decisive moment.” With these 10 favorites by Shutterbug readers from the Street Photography assignment, we found them.

Panasonic just unveiled the new 20-megapixel Lumix DMC-ZS100 premium compact camera at CES 2016 in Las Vegas, NV. Panasonic squeezes quite a few features into this  pocket-sized Lumix ZS100 including a 10x zoom, the Venus processor and a 1-inch MOS sensor. We had some hands-on time with the Panasonic Lumix ZS100 ahead of the launch and have included the image of the camera at the top of this story.

In something of a surprise, Nikon announced at the CES 2016 show today in Las Vegas that it’s entering the competitive action camera market with several forthcoming products. The first in Nikon’s new action camera lineup will be the oddly named Nikon KeyMission 360, a rugged camera capable of “recording true 360-degree video in 4K UHD allowing users to share new perspectives and explore imagery like never before,” Nikon said in a press statement.

Phase One announced it has joined forces with Sony to design a new 100MP CMOS sensor for the new Phase One XF 100MP Camera System. The Phase One XF 100MP Camera System is shipping now and is available through the company’s sales partners worldwide for a whopping $48,990 USD. (The system comes with a Schneider Kreuznach 80mm LS lens.)
