Use Your Nikon F Lenses On Sony E–Mount APS-C or Full-frame Cameras With New Vello AF Adapter

Sony shooters will soon be able to use their beloved Nikon F lenses on Sony's E-mount mirrorless cameras with a new adapter from Vello scheduled to ship sometime next month. This is a premium adapter with all-metal construction, superb build quality, and an anti-reflective matte finish.

As you might expect, the unit isn’t cheap: It will sell for $399 and is available for pre-order at B&H Photo with delivery anticipated sometime in May. Before you squabble at the price, consider that the Vello Nikon F to Sony E adapter supports autofocus with most Nikon G– and E-type lenses, including phase-detect support, and offers a host of other sophisticated capabilities.

According to SONYALPHA Rumors, the adapter also supports image stabilization, auto exposure, the ability to control aperture settings from the camera body, and saving EXIF data to the image file.

Auto exposure is also supported with most D– and G-type lenses as well. An integrated 1/4″-20 socket provides a secure tripod mount.
