The weather was forecast to be partly cloudy for this morning. The Painted Hills near Reno should be well lit. I was their at sunrise with camera ready. The sun/clouds did not disappoint as this image shows. The red color in the distant rocks is from iron oxide (rust) in the rocks. The red color in the left foreground is caused by lichens growing on the rock.
Olympus E-30 with Olympus 14-54mm lens @ 14mm, f/7.1, ISO-200, 1/400 second exposure.
