New Photo Show: Lionel Cruet: In Between

The Bronx River Art Center (located at 305 East 140th Street, Bronx, NY 10460) will host the exhibit titled Lionel Cruet: In Between, Real And Digital—on view from September 19 to October 11, 2014. The exhibit, curated by Karine Duteil, will feature Cruet’s recent artworks that utilize digital platforms to encourage viewers to discuss geopolitics, nature and technology. Video is projected on to raw canvas to evoke water and other natural phenomena, an innovative presentation designed to blur the boundary line between virtual and real environments.

This project is supported (in part) by public funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works; the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and the New York State Council on the Arts with support of Governor Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Artist Lionel Cruet lives and works in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico. His work has been presented in exhibits including Superreal: Alterntive Realities in Photography and Video at El Museo del Barrio and The 11th Media Art Biennale at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, Chile.
