Fujifilm Intros Compact XF10 Camera with APS-C Sensor, 18.5mm F2.8 Lens & Bluetooth

Fujifilm just introduced a new compact camera, which it hopes can compete with the onslaught of smartphone cameras. Called the Fujifilm XF10, the pocket-sized, lightweight (just under 10 ounces) camera has a Fujinon 18.5mm F2.8 fixed lens.

Unlike smartphones, which use tiny sensors, the Fujifilm XF10 is fitted with a 24.2MP APSC-C sensor similar to what you’d find in some entry-level DSLRs. You can also shoot both 4K movies and full HD video with the XF10.

The new Fujifilm XF10 is the first X Series camera to offer the new “SQUARE MODE,” which allows users to switch to a 1:1 format with a flick of the touchscreen, Fujifilm North America said today in a press announcement. The company says the 1:1 format has become popular on social media, allowing the camera to be suited for the Instagram generation.

The Fujifilm XF10 will go on sale in August 2018 for $499.95 (USD) and $649.99 (CAD). It will come in Black or Champagne Gold colors, Fujifilm said.
