Demonstrators Confront Photographer, Media Professor Threatens Videographer at University of Missouri Protest (VIDEO)

The below video, which is quickly making the rounds of social media, shows a confrontation between freelance photographer and University of Missouri student Tim Tai and demonstrators during the ongoing campus-wide protest over perceived racial injustice at the school.

Tai, who was on assignment for ESPN, attempts to photograph a tent city encampment in a public area of the campus but is repeatedly blocked by demonstrators from a group called Concerned Student 1950. At one point, the group chants: “Hey hey, ho ho, reporters have got to go.”

In response, Tai tells the protestors: “I am documenting this for a national news organization…the First Amendment protects your right to be here and mine.”

Towards the end of the clip, which was shot by Mark Shierbecker, a woman who has been identified as University of Missouri Assistant Professor of Mass Media Melissa Click, appears to grab Shierbecker’s camera after he tells her he’s a journalist.

“Who wants to help me get this reporter out of here? I need some muscle over here,” Click says in the video.

Nothing changes. Dogs bark ... Birds sing ... Students protest. They should be allowed to get it out of their system, before they join the rat race.

Talking about race ... what on earth is respect for "black spaces". The USA may be the world's superpower but it still has an awfully long way to go.

Still, it's good to see that Melissa Click, from the at the School of Journalism, has lost her 'job'.
